Part Two: It Takes A Village

The Ledges

Cliff A

Nothing of note here, out in the sunshine, so head right across the bridge and exit the room.

Cliff B

Head to the right and you'll be swarmed by a couple Wyverns. You can take them out in a single punch, but it's best to leave them alone. They won't hurt you if you keep moving. When you reach the right edge of the room, head down to exit.

Wyvern Nest

Head to the right and you'll spot a blue object sitting in a gray-ish nest thing. Pick up the Blue Serpent Idol and then head back up to Cliff B. Note: if you killed one or both of the wyverns, their mom will swoop in and kill you when you try to grab the idol.

Cliff B

Head straight up to enter the little tunnel thing.

North Woods Access

There's a bunch of optional stuff that can be done to the left, but we are once again skipping over that in the main walkthrough. Instead of exploring the ancillary portion of Kal Torlin, exit to the right.

North Woods Trail

Exit to the right, ignoring the path upwards that you'll pass by.

The City

Low Street A

Here we are at the edge of the City of Gwynenthel. The trail to the north leads around the walls of the town, so we don't really need to head that way. There are two buildings here, but both doors are locked. Between the buildings is an alley that you can enter. So just walk between them to get into the next area.

West Street A

There's a magic fountain here, but we don't currently possess a way to use it. If you come back later with some money, you can toss a coin in there and have a chat with the spirit of King Aronde if you want some extra flavor text. At any rate, exit left.

West Street B

Head left and you'll pass by a couple doors. You can head into either the Chancellor's or Alchemist's Office and chat with the inhabitants if you wish, but it's not necessary. You'll eventually come to a green table with an anvil sitting on top. Sitting beside the anvil is a box of Tools that you should take. Don't worry, speaking to the Alchemist reveals that the Blacksmith left town in a hurry, and gives you permission to take his tools. You're definitely not stealing in an unprincely manner. Once you have the Tools keep heading left until you exit the room.

High Street A

Head through the super fancy door to the left of the town gate.

Temple

Chat with the Priestess and she'll give you the Ancient Pendant. That's all we need to do in here, so head back out.

High Street A

The door to the right of the town gate is the Pet Shoppe, which we'll need to visit later. Since we don't have any money yet, just head to the right into the next area.

High Street B

Ignore the street preacher and head all the way to the right. Heading up leads to the Castle Gwynenthell, but that's inaccessible so head down instead.

East Street B

Start walking to the left. The first door you come across is the Fortune Teller's, who can give some vague hints in exchange for coins. We don't have any (plus, you're following a walkthrough, so you don't really need the hints), so walk on past it. Enter the next door you come across, with the fancy pattern on it.

Gem Shoppe

Give the Gem to the proprietor and he will buy it from you for two Gold Coins. Yay, now we have money! Leave the shoppe.

East Street B

Head left again to exit this area.

East Street A

You should hear some cries for help. Even if you don't, there is still a citizen in need, so be a good Prince and head up into the alley to the right of the building.

Back Alley

Use the window to have Erik climb up the crates and enter the building.

Old Woman's House

Use the Icon of Touch on the old woman to help her up off the floor. She'll reward your efforts with a shiny Gold Coin. Head back out to East Street A.

East Street A

Head left to exit.

Low Street B

You'll emerge from another alley between two buildings. Head to the right, and then down the steps you can see at the lower edge of your screen.

Docks

As soon as you enter the screen, a pelican will fly away. Pick up the Feather that it drops. Head right to the end of the dock and pick up the sleeping Turtle. Head back up to Low Street B.

Low Street B

Enter the closest building to the docks, with the mermaid on the front, to enter the Tavern.

Tavern

If you chat with the old man sitting beside the door, you'll find out that he's hosting turtle races. Show him your Turtle, and Erik will ante up a coin. Your turtle will handily win the race, which nets you a fourth Gold Coin. Exit the Tavern.

Low Street B

Enter the building to the left of the alley.

Curio Shoppe

The first time you enter, the shoppe owner will give you a Mystical Box to give to the Sage of the Forest. Completing this quest will get us a Gold Coin, but we have all we need so we're skipping that side quest for this walkthrough. To buy things in this game, use a Gold Coin on the item you wish to buy, and that will trigger Erik to complete the transaction. Purchase the Squeak Toy Mouse and the Beard Comb, then leave the store.

Low Street B

Make your way back up to High Street A.

High Street A

Enter the door to the right of the city gate.

Pet Shoppe

But the Dog, then leave the shoppe.

High Street A

We now have everything we need from the City. The way this walkthrough laid things out, you're left with an extra Gold Coin. You can hang onto it, or spend it on something if you wish. Once you're done shopping, exit out through the city gate.
