Speaking of getting motion sickness...

Move forward until you reach the edge. Dash across the various floating platforms (they'll begin to fall as soon as you step on them) until you reach a small island. There are a few flat boulders that are floating in an orbit around the large island in the center of the chasm. Wait for the closest boulder to get close to you and Dash onto it. Do this for three more boulders until you reach the large island in the center with the obelisk on it. Once you reach it, (move to the blue dodecagram if necessary) the prison rings reactivate and Lakmir will again show up with a message for you. After he's done speaking, a blue crystal will appear at the foot of the obelisk. Touch this with your Wand to gain ice magic.

Now we just need to escape. In order to do that, we need to shoot the trigger rune on each one. There's only one ring that we can reach at the moment, so we'll start there. There are two ways to discern which rune needs to be hit with fire. The first is to look up at the top of the obelisk. At the top of the front, where you are, will be the rune for the first ring. You can travel around the obelisk and view the top on different sides for each right. The rune on the right will be for the second ring, the rune on the back for the third, and the one on the left shuts off the fourth ring. Or you can use Odin Vision to highlight the rune on the ring itself.

Either way, you'll find it tricky to zap the rune as things stand. What you'll need to do is hit the ring with a blast of our fancy new ice magic when the rune is in view, and then hit the rune with fire to activate it. Once activated, the portion of the barrier behind the ring will shut down to allow you access to the next ring. If you're having trouble reading the runes, here are the solutions:

If you're having trouble with the fourth ring, it can be help to Dash out onto the first or second orbiting boulder. This gets you closer to the ring, depending on where the boulder is on its orbit. Once you're close to it, you can freeze the boulder to keep it from drifting out of reach.

Once all barriers have been deactivated, make your way out to the farthest orbital boulder that you can reach. There are three islands that it will pass by, but only one of them is within Dash range. So travel to that one. It will have a Save Point and a skeleton. Odin will also show a hidden chest between two of the pedestals, which can be blasted open for a Large Key. Once we have the key, move to the opposite end of the island that landed on and catch a new orbiting boulder. This one still won't quite get you within range of the exit island. There's one final boulder that you can Dash to, but it's on the opposite end of the chasm and orbits in tandem with the one you're on. Use some ice magic to shoot the boulder that you're standing on, which freezes it in place.

This will only keep you in place temporarily. Once it begins moving again, freeze it once more. This second freeze will give the final boulder time to catch up with you. Once it passes by, quickly Dash onto it. Once this boulder reaches the other island with a Save Point, Dash onto that. Now Dash across the floating blocks and up to a hall. If you got here without first finding the key, use Odin Vision to spot a hidden Runic Panel. You can blast this to raise the floating platforms, which allows you to return to the last save island and make your way over to the hidden chest.

As long as you have the key, just head on through the exit door and into the next room.

Onward to the Eastern Mineshaft.
